I bought a used car from a used car dealers in Peterborough recently. After 3 days it broke down and i rejected the car and asked for a full refund under the sales of goods act 1979. The dealer was having none of it.
To cut a long story short, i took the case to the small claims court. The dealer didnt respond to the court to defend themselves and i asked for and got a judgement by default. The court ordered the dealer to repay me in full within 2 weeks , they didnt, ive now applied for a warrant of execution in order to try to get my money back. This could take a month or more. The court will give them a further 7 days to pay up, if they dont then the bailiffs will be instructed to recover the money from them.
I want to warn people about this dealer in the hope nobody else has the hassle with them that i have had.
I will tell you that they sell and advertise a lot on ebay, and i will disclose the name of the rogue trader once i have recieved back my cash, so keep coming back and you will end up knowing the name of the used car dealers.
